Setting Up Your NFT Project: A Comprehensive Guide

Mintology Quick Start Guide

This guide walks you through setting up your NFT project on Mintology, focusing on creating a Dedicated Gasless Smart Contract.

Setting up an NFT project

An NFT project is like a container that holds your NFTs. You can name it anything you like.

1️⃣ Choose Your Blockchain & Supply

Decide on the foundation of your NFT collection:

Blockchain: Mintology currently supports:

  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Immutable X (IMX)

Supply: Determine the total number of NFTs in your collection:

  • Unlimited: Allows for continuous minting.
  • Limited: Creates scarcity with a fixed number of NFTs.

2️⃣ Set Royalties & Your Wallet (Dedicated Contract)

If you opt for a Dedicated Contract, you have control over royalties and where they are sent:

  • Royalties: Set a percentage (up to 50%) that you will receive on secondary sales of your NFTs.
  • Your Wallet: Enter your Ethereum-compatible wallet address to receive these royalties.
    • 🚨 Important: Ensure the wallet address belongs to an Ethereum-compatible network. Mintology is not responsible for incorrect wallet addresses from other blockchains.
    • Security: Prioritize the security of your wallet. If you lose access, contact Mintology to update it.

3️⃣ What Can & Can’t Be Changed Later?

Understand the permanence of your initial choices:

You CAN update:

  • Project Name & Description
  • Project Symbol
  • Total Supply of NFTs

You CAN’T change:

  • Contract Type & Blockchain
  • Royalties & Wallet Address

Once these initial settings are configured, your project is ready for the next step: preparing your NFTs as premints. 🚀

Premints Setup: Preparing Your NFTs

Premints are the NFT assets you prepare before they are officially minted on the blockchain. This involves uploading the associated metadata:
Name: The individual name of each NFT.
Description: A detailed description for each NFT.
Attributes: Unique characteristics or properties of each NFT.
Images: The visual representation of your NFTs.

You can efficiently create these premints using the NFT Wizard.

To begin:

  • Navigate to your project settings and click ‘Add NFTs’ under NFT Details.
  • Choose to go to the NFT Wizard.

Ways to create NFTs

Mintology offers two primary methods for creating your NFTs:

Ways to create NFTs

1️⃣ Single-Image NFTs

This method is ideal for uploading finished, unique images.
✔ Simply drag and drop your image files or browse your device to select them.
Upload multiple images simultaneously to save time.
Customize details and attributes for each individual NFT.
✔ Utilize bulk edits to apply the same changes to multiple NFTs at once.

2️⃣ Generative NFTs

Leverage automation to create a collection of unique NFTs based on layered assets.

  • Upload a folder containing your layers. Organize these layers into categories (e.g., backgrounds, characters, accessories).
  • Rearrange the layer order and define rarity levels for each layer within the Editor.
  • NFT attributes are automatically derived from the folder and file names. You can further edit these attributes as needed.
  • Enter the desired number of NFTs for your collection and click Continue.

💡 Tip: For a hands-on experience, use the mintology-demo-generative folder provided in the code template.

🚨 Important: Once your project is deployed, you cannot edit Generative NFTs. Ensure your layers and configurations are finalized before deployment.

Next Steps

With your premints ready, you can now proceed to:
Deploy Your Project: Make your smart contract live on the chosen blockchain.
Start Minting NFTs! 🚀: Begin the process of writing your premints onto the blockchain.

Deploying & Project Deletion

Deployment

Once your premints are configured, you can deploy your project to the blockchain.

Important Considerations:

  • Irreversible Action: Once deployed, a project cannot be deleted.
  • Processing Time: Deployment may take some time. You can continue with other tasks and check the status later.
  • Subscription Activation: If you haven’t activated your Mintology subscription, you will be prompted to do so during the deployment process.
