Mintology Guide: Understanding Organizations, Roles, and Permissions

Mintology Guide: Understanding Organizations, Roles, and Permissions

Organizations keep projects neat and safe. On Mintology, an organization is a workspace that groups collections, campaigns, billing, and team members. Use separate orgs for different brands, clients, or internal projects so permissions, billing, and assets never get tangled. This guide shows how to create orgs, invite teammates, set roles, switch workspaces, and avoid common permission headaches.

Level Up Your Organization With Mintology

Core concepts

  • Organization – a dedicated workspace that groups users, assets, and projects under one entity.
  • Active Organization – the org you are currently working in; shown top-left in the sidebar.
  • Organization Selector – dropdown at the top-left that lists all orgs you belong to.
  • Admin Access – highest permission level; admins control settings, billing, members, and deletion.
  • Organization Profile – name, description, logo and admin list for that workspace.

Create a new organization

Click the Organization Dropdown at the top-left of the sidebar.

Click Add Organization.

Enter an Organization Name and a short Description.

Click Create.

The new organization will appear in your sidebar dropdown. Click it to switch in.

Tip: name it clearly (e.g., “Client X – Campaigns”) so teammates know which workspace they are in.

Edit org profile and branding

Select the organization via the org selector.

Go to SettingsOrganization Settings.

Under Branding, upload your logo.

Under Display, edit the org name and description.

Click Save to apply changes across the platform.

Use a square logo and keep descriptions short and searchable.

Teams and roles – who does what

  • Go to Teams in the sidebar to invite members by email.
  • Role breakdown:
    • Admin – full access: billing, org settings, members, delete org.
    • Developer – can manage collections and campaigns; limited admin controls.
    • Member – basic access; permissions controlled by admins.
  • Assign roles during invite and update roles anytime from Teams.

Best practice: always keep at least two Admins so access is not lost if one person leaves.

Switching between orgs

Click the org selector in the top-left.

Choose the org you want to work in from the list. The UI will reload with data and permissions tied to that active organization.

Note: actions you take apply only to the active org.

When to create multiple organizations

Create separate orgs for:

  • Different brands or business entities.
  • Client accounts for agencies.
  • Internal projects that need isolated dashboards and permissions.

Each org has independent: teams, billing plans, collections, storefronts, campaigns, and automations. This separation avoids accidental cross-project changes.

Admin tasks only 🔐

Admins can:

  • Create and delete organizations.
  • Manage billing and subscription settings per organization.
  • Invite or remove team members and change roles.
  • Edit organization metadata like name and description.

If you need to change billing or delete an org, make sure you have Admin privileges before starting.

Managing billing per organization

Each org manages its own subscription. To view or change billing: SettingsBilling while the target org is active. This keeps invoices, plan limits, and usage separate between clients or brands.

Tip: Agencies should map billing responsibilities to a single Admin per client org.

Common workflows & examples

Example: agency with 3 clients

  • Create orgs: Client A, Client B, Client C.
  • Invite client-specific teams into each org.
  • Use dedicated storefronts, collections, and campaigns per org.
  • Each client org has its own Billing settings and Admins.

This prevents mistakes like shipping the wrong NFT to the wrong brand.

Troubleshooting & tips

  • Org missing in dropdown? Confirm you were invited and accepted the invite. Log out and back in, or contact support.
  • Permissions wrong? Check the Teams page and role assignments for the user in that org.
  • Admin lost access? Ensure there is another Admin available. If not, contact Mintology support with org proof.
  • Want to delete an org? Admins go to Settings → Organization Settings → Delete Organization. This is irreversible, so export any data first.

Keep access tidy, keep projects safe ✨

Good org and role management prevents chaos. Use one org per brand or client, assign roles wisely, keep at least two admins, and test switching before major launches. Clean org structure means safer billing, fewer mistakes, and faster work across teams. With Mintology, you got this!
